Welcome to Ms. Perry's AP U.S. Government and Politics Website!!!

Although we might not think about it, American politics impacts each of us everyday in almost everything we do.  The laws and regulations passed and implemented by governments at the local, state, and national levels shape everything from the choice of food available to you for breakfast, to the way in which you arrived on campus, and the courses offered once you arrived.  Despite the prevalence of government’s effects, many students are unfamiliar with how government policies are created and which politics shape them and how.  Learning how our political institutions work, how they were designed to work and who influences the decisions of government will assist you in impacting the system and its policies. 

The most important right you have as a U.S. citizen is the right to vote.  Less than 50% of the registered voters actually vote in the presidential elections and even less than that votes in all other elections.  It is the responsibility of every U.S. citizen to vote and participate in our government.
